Who can join Animal Rights Collective?

Anyone affiliated with NYU who is interested in reducing and preventing harm done to animals.

What kind of events do you have?
  • Protests in support of animal rights (see our anti-fur work with the ADL)

  • Group volunteer opportunities (working with organizations like Sean Casey Animal Rescue and the Best Friends Society)

  • Animal appreciation field trips (birding, hikes, foraging)

  • Coffee Chats and Panels with professors from the Animal Studies Department and beyond

Who do you work with?

We work with NYU organizations, such as the Animal Studies Department, the Office of Sustainability, the Greener by Default Coalition, Collective Fashion Justice, and the Student Animal Legal Defense Fund at NYU Law.

We also collaborate with a variety of animal rights and welfare organizations. We work with non-profits that range in their orientation towards welfare and rights such as the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, the Humane League, Mercy for Animals, and People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals
